I think it is a step in the right direction. The upgrades they have made with the addition of Woodson should help improve a defense that was simply horrific. Hawk and their 2ND round pick Abdul Hodge will improve the overall speed of the defense. However, the interior of their defensive line is very unproven and this will add pressure to their very light defensive ends who specialize in rushing the passer. It will take some time for defensive coach Bob Sanders to come up with blitz packages to hide the weaknesses of the front seven. The good news is that they will improve but it will only be marginal. Offensively, there are still questions to be answered on the line. The tackles are solid. the problematic region is also the interior of the o-line. This will hurt the Packers because they will not have as much success running the football which means the pressure will be heavy on Brett. This pressure intensifies when you think of the aspect that they have lost the down field play making ability of Jevon Walker. In my opinion Donald Driver is a possession receiver at best and they have no other down field threat unless they can pull off a trade for some help.

I am a die hard Chicago Bears fan and a season ticket holder. I personally think that AJ Hawk could be the next Brian Urlacher in the division. The team is still too new with the new coaching administration. They are going to be good and when Aaron Rogers gets into the games - I am scared as to what they may do. Favre staying on the team is only disrupting it and making it bad for the long run seriously. His time has passed.

i think the packers have a good chance to improve this year (how couldnt they). there were so many games last year that they should have won. they were in every single game except for the ravens game. they easily could have had 5 more wins last years if not for the injuries (walker, green, davenport, gado, fisher) they had the no.1 rated pass defense last year and only improved the defense by bringing in woodson, hawk, hodge, pickett, manuel. the offense will struggle without a legit deep threat but im hoping jennings can be that guy. ive all but given up on fergueson. the offensive line is our biggest weakness but im hoping that a few of those rookies we got will step up. im looking at a 7-9 record this year not good enough for the playoffs but a definate improvement from last year.

The Pack are in trouble for a few years unless this defense does develope quickly. There offense is in touble as long as Farve is back there and then 3 years after that to get it going again. Defense wins championships and they are trying to build one to make up for there offense that they know wont be championship material for another 3- 5 years. Sorry to say but the Lions may rise pass the Pack for a few years. But on the plus side the Viks should be battling for the cellar with you.

I just don't think the Packers did anything to help immediate success. I'm still surprised that Farve chose to come back. Give them a few years and watch the young players evolve and then the Pack could enjoy some years of success.

I am a life-long Cheesehead, although I am a realist. Anyone who feels that they either do worse than .500 or go deep in the playoffs is mistaken. Way too many tough teams out there, including the Bears being played 2x.
I feel Chaka S stated this topic the best.

lets see here. . . hmmmm. packers have no chance this year. the only plus for them is a weak division. but you can chalk up two losses to da bears right now. i am going to guess 5-11 if farve has a bad year like last year. and 6-11 if he has a good year. they have no D.

They go no where this year. Yes they worked on defense but hello... they got Mr. Butterfingers in the backfield with Green and One option for Farve to throw to. At the end of the season Farve will retire. and if he doesn't the he might end up end his career like Jordan did his.
