Just look it up. Typing a few keywords is quicker and easier than typing a question and never knowing what types of responses you will get. I would only ask if I could not find anything on what I was looking for.

it depends. Facts and figures are simple. But some people a don't really construct a good search string. They can barely ask a coherent question sometimes. The human tendency to construct order out of chaos, helps in here in ways that you can't google.

I think its easier to look it up.
Some people just give really REALLY dumb answers, or they have their answer as "thanks for the 2 points."
I would look it up first (and save the 5 points ;) ) and then if all else fails, by all means, ask away! Don't forget about Yahoo! search engine.

depends on what you're looking for.
easy questions that you have an idea of what to search for are easy for you to do yourself, but questions where you don't have a good idea of what to look for are easier to ask others.

If you search for answers,you will get more results if the question has already been asked a few times,and you save 5 points.

Depends on the subject matter most likely looking it up is faster.
