I have lived in Houston for the last 15 years, and I must say, I agree with everything that Alvin says (especially the last item!). However, there are also a lot of things that don't suck about Texas...or at least about Houston. (It's a huge, culturally diverse city with lots to do and with great Mexican food). Like anywhere else it has its good points and its bad!

I think your question is as valid as why is New Jersey full of people from the Sopranos and NY's garbage. If you didn't like it, sorry, we have the most diversity of any state both in landscaping and weather, money and politics, music, and fine arts the variety of food and people. Obviously you didn't like it, so next time go somewhere else and leave all the good for us...NJ is a beautiful place and has a lot to offer, but then I am a bit more observant and tolerant finding the good things...

Don't Mess With Texas

Oh be nice now. That question coming from someone in the tiny little state of NJ means you're probably suffering from "little state syndrome" and are just jealous of Texas' massive size.

something to do with the hurricanes & tornadoes? or too many politicians?

seriously, though, Texas can be a great place to live. Or it can suck. Depends on where you are exactly (it's a BIG state) and also on YOUR own state of mind.
