All the books I see on preparing for law school are about the LSAT, choosing schools, how to study, etc...I'm looking for a book that outlines (not like a detailed commercial outline for current students) the first year classes. I.e. like this is what a contract is, these are the types, this is what a tort is, etc... I can't find any on Amazon...any advice?

I would go ask your future professors for their syllabi. Or you could ask a current law student for their old outlines.

In general, though, the reason why you can't find a book is because it would be thousands of pages long. There is so much that you cover in the first year and every professor focuses on different topics.

Read the book L-1 it will really open your eyes, as to what the first year of law school is actually like.
I highly recommend it.
