The Holocaust is one of my subject areas. I've read hundreds of books on this topic. And I have many to recommend. What comes to mind first, are several books by Ruth Minsky Sender. My favorite is THE CAGE. It is a great book, a powerful testimony. But she has written other books about her experience as well.
Livia Bitton-Jackson has a trilogy of her memoirs starting with I HAVE LIVED A THOUSAND YEARS. I highly recommend it.
Another great book I'd recommend is Irene Gut Opdyke's biography IN MY HANDS: MEMORIES OF A HOLOCAUST RESCUER.
There are also many general resources on the topic (as opposed to biographies) that you might want to read. For example Susan Bachrach's TELL THEM WE REMEMBER or David Adler's WE REMEMBER THE HOLOCAUST or Hazel Rochman and Darlene McCampbell's BEARING WITNESS: STORIES OF THE HOLOCAUST.
Night by Elie Wiesel is also good.
Doing a search in Amazon or in your local library should give you a good starting place.
You might also be interested in reading James Cross Giblin's biography of Hitler. It is an amazing read (THE LIFE AND DEATH OF ADOLF HITLER, published in 2002)

Elie Wiesel - Night is an autobiographical novel [1] by Elie Wiesel based on his experience, as a young Jew, of being deported with his family from the village of Sighet in Transylvania to the German death camp at Auschwitz, and later, to the concentration camp at Buchenwald during the Holocaust.
Vickor Frankl - His book Man's Search for Meaning (first published in 1946) chronicles his experiences as a concentration camp inmate and describes his psychotherapeutic method of finding meaning in all forms of existence, even the most sordid ones, and thus a reason to continue living.

In Washington DC, they have an entire museum that focuses on the Holocaust. I was fortunate to be able to tour it with my family. While I considered myself well schooled in history, I was amazed at the many atrocities that occurred during that dark time. I recommend that you visit their website and check out the books they offer for sale. Many of their titles are not available anywhere else.
Thanks for keeping history alive.

Read Schindler's List! It's a powerful story about the holocaust, and will give you insight and education about the events while providing entertainment as well.

There is a really special book about paper clips. I'm not sure but, the tital may be "Paperclips." I watched a documentry about it and it just broke my heart (in negative and very positive ways). There actually is a train car museum (I'm not sure where) that once held these paperclips. It is a good story, a true story that EVERYONE should read.

Corrie Ten Boom-anything by or about her. Her family hid Jews during the war.
Also I read one about Danish families hiding escapees too. If I remember I'll come back and edit.
Great topic-a fave of mine.
