Did you know babies eyes are full size - the rest of them grows around them. This is especially to make them more attractive and adorable. Connection is made through the eyes. It is exactly so we will be inclined to love and nurture. It's a "survival of the species thing" - sure there must be a better anthropological term for it.

Animals are cute to us and to most of their mothers - but some species still need to beware because they still eat their young. But how could they - is there anything cuter than a new little puppy, or kitty, or duckling, or bear, or colt, or. . .

Humans are 'wired' with a perception that young animals and human babies are 'adorable' this is a mechanism which helps perpetuate the species...If something is 'adorable' we try to protect and nuture it. That protection and nurturing helps the baby survive.

The only theory that comes to mind which I don't think is one I simply made up is that round, soft and exaggerated features appeal to us; plus the natural human capacity for empathy leads us to adore infants and young children. Also, we reason that their inexperience makes them inherently untainted and pure.

I've heard that it's because it helps that babies are adorable, to keep adults from killing them. The other biological thing is that animals are attracted to things that look like them, that is why our offspring resemble us. It helps to keep us interested in nuturing the little ones, while they drive us crazy on a daily basis!!!

It's that they so enjoy having fun, unlike adults have so much going on that we rearly have time to enjoy simple things; like cardboard boxes. It takes so much to make adults happy. some adults never have fun unless animals or baby are around!

Because if they weren't, no one would have any motivation not to kill them.

Think about it. They're messy, dependant, time consuming, and loud. They're cute as a survival mechanism.

there is a ratio of large eye and head size as compared to the rest of the body, that is attractive, it tweaks our nurturing instincts; it says "I'm helpless; I need you!"
