While a seemingly simple question, you have hit on the heart of prejudice. Good for you.
I think this started back in the days of slavery. It eased the minds of white slave owners if they saw Africans as "dumb animals", rather than a culturally rich race of peoples torn from their homes.
It continues, stereotypically in the South, to hide ignorance about cultural differences and make the biggotted feel better about their own pitiful lots in life.
I find the more educated and intellegent a person, the more likely they are to judge a person by the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin.

There are many, many ignorant people in this world of all races and origins. The most ignorant are the ones that divide and catagorize others based on superficial factors such as in race, gender, age, attractiveness, or wealth. Really, there are just two catagories, the ignorant and the enlightened. Don't be an ignorant!

Could it possibly have anything to do with being on the Jerry Springer and Maury Povich Shows. Don't leave Cops out.
These are all actors who are paid to make their RACE look like ignorant, one step below trailer trash. Why would an actor do that. Maybe they are ignorant.

No it's not really that, it's more like most of them don't care about anyone or ideal that would make the world better.

Really I think a lot of people in general are stuck on focusing on the most negative of everything... Too many look at the bad ones of all tones and not enough at the good people. The bad of all are getting too much attention, when the better of all of us should be the representation of our society, not them.
