i personally believe it is the bibles fault why people don't believe...if they would not have written the new testaments/jesus christ chapters...religion might still be in are hearts and practiced...the reason 4 this is the the bible first says if you do not obey gods plans in every way/shape and form and don't live how it was written...you well go to hell...but then he gives us free will to chose what we want to do...how nice...lol...garrantied right there...no1 is goin to go to heaven...so there is just him and moses and they r up there and tired on talkin to each other...moses says to god...yo god...we got to do something about this...so enters the new testaments...wich contradicks the rules he set forth in the first testements...the truth is...heaven and hell is right here on earth while you are a live...practice the teaching of the bible'a good fictional book that sets a stanard way of liveing life second to none', while your alive...live your life in heaven...right now 4 me i am liveing in hell....that would be lake county florida...center of hell...

Well, I have an opinion about this one, it’s not bad and it’s not judging so much, but just my view. I believe that people who do not believe in God feel that they were perhaps let down or not listened to a time or two in their lives, and now as a result they have lost all faith. I also believe that in order for someone to be living on this earth, whether they believe in God of sorts or what ever, they believe in something. For instance, someone who believes in the evolution theory or the big bang, or Adam and Eve, all have beliefs in something higher. I also think that people who are self-proclaimed atheists have a strong belief system, to go so far as to have a name for what they believe or not believe. So in essence they are not leading a Godless life, they are just waiting it out for the truth, what ever it may be, or in some cases perhaps closet believers.
I am not a holy roller…I DON’T go to church, I don’t believe in them…and I don’t preach, but I do have a good life, and I do believe very very strongly in GOD, what ever or where ever he/she may be.

I am not an atheist, as it takes too much faith to be one, but I figure they have a sane existence and develop a lot of self-reliance and take responsibility for their actions. I think that is a good way to be and if everybody did it, the world would be a betetr place. They never kill anyone for having the wrong religion as the religious people do all the time. atheists are not the problem. It is the religious peole that are the rpoblem IRAQ is a case in point. If all those sincere religious muslim people were simple atheists, there would be no terrorism and no war.
How many wars have atheists started or caused or even fought in. They are too busy cooperating with the world of reality and striving to achieve as they know they cannot depend on prayers
They develop a good working morality that takes into account human nature, does not deny it and suppress it.

Well, I am not an atheist but I am agnostic which people often confuse with. But for me, me belief, or lack thereof is based on a lack of hard evidence that a god does exist.
Before anyone goes on about the trees and the sunsets and all of the wonderful things that exist, I also see equally terrible things that exist. A certain balance to the system.
But without the key ingredient of Faith, a certainty of a god that exists is not possible for me.
faith (fth) KEY
NOUN:
1.Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief, trust.
So without Faith, there is no confidence (1) and then with faith, then allows a person to go forward because there is no need of proof to believe.(2)
So for me personally, I know I lack the faith to truly believe that something either exists or does not exist. So I can neither be a believer or a non believer, because neither can be proven. And without that, you are basing your beliefs on hopes, dreams, and desires. That's fine... As long as you don't force your hope, dreams and desires on anyone else. But hey, that is why we have wars today.

I don't really believe in the god that the churches preach about, due to the fact that a lot of the passages in the bible have been disproven. I do belive in a "higher power." I don't know if this makes me atheists or not... but I believe that there has to be something stronger, older, and/or more developed than mankind. We are a more recent species, giving us a slighter dissadvantage. I do still worry that somehow there is a god though, and that he is meerly sifting through the "good" and "bad" people, by posing that question. But I am given the opportunity to believe in whatever I want, and to choose which ever faith suits me. Whether or not I am correct, I truely don't know. I don't know that anyone knows.... good luck with your paper. ((a paper this late in the year?? GOOD LUCK))

I don't believe in God because simply it was never forced upon in my house. I believe in Karma and energy, but that's about it. I plan on studying theology in college because I find it interesting how easily people can be manipulated by religion.
My parents were raised to be religious but I guess thought there were more important things than getting up at a heinous hour every week to pray to some one who may or may not be real. I can count how many times I have been to church on one hand and all of those times I have hated every second of it.
Life without God can create awkward situations between friends. They'll ask me if I want to go to church with them or tell me about mission trips they've been on and how much fun it is. I don't regret not believing in God, I think it makes me a more interesting person.

I wouldn't say that I don't believe in God, or a God. I would say that I don't have reasonable proof of his existence. Do I believe in a higher power? Not really. I believe that it is possible in this infinite universe for a being sufficiently advanced enough to exist that it would seem Godlike to us. The universe is too big to discount these things whole handedly. My life without God is probably the same as anyone with God, except I don't have to tithe 10% of my earnings to the Church..hehe. Hope this helps your paper.

I'm not quite an atheist. I believe in a higher power, an entity or energy that does flow through the universe.
When people talk about "God", they humanize it, they bring it down to a human level. I don't see "God" in that sense. A higher power or entity exists for a greater purpose that I doubt any human could ever understand. Believing in a higher power versus believing in a version of a God is quite different.

i'm not a "holy roller" either. no church. i don't read the Bible. but i think the difference between myself and an athiest is that I don't want to believe that this life here is all that there is. i'm very "spiritual" and i do believe in God, and only one. I think athiest deny the fact that just because there is no tangiable proof, there is no God. There are millions of aspects of life that have no reason behind them, but they accept them. why not accept the fact that God made ya, loves ya, and tests you to know if you believe in Him. That's why i think i have crappy days. so, your life could be good without him, but how great could your life be if you had innerpeace with Him? God is awesome, more awesome than we can ever imagine.

There's no way of telling which religion is the right one to choose. If you are lutheran, all the other religions are still going to think they've chosen the right path, but you're going to hell. I am not an atheist, I believe in my own beliefs, which is commonly a mixture. There are alot of contradictions about the bible, and it too makes me wonder why I would be so vulnerable as to beleive in a god that might not be real. On the other hand, if I choose to turn wiccan/The Craft, I would be accused of being into satanism, and that is not what wiccan is.People can beleive in their own way, i don't beleive in judging others. But why would someone else care about my beliefs? We're all entitled to our own opinions. Our own beleifs...so beleive however you want to.

I don't believe in god because the concept is unnecessary to me, and against the belief that I am ultimately responsible for my actions. I do not believe in a higher power, at least not a purposeful one, beyond the laws of physical processes. Life is fine without god, I have a strong sense of my self and my purpose without outside direction.
