How do I impress a professor. I am taking pre-med, and I havent had problems with my state exams in mathematics but I made silly mistakes in Algebra in class, what If I do in college. I never knew the
value of GPA until the end of my high school. Im going to feel really bad if I have a bad GPA for any reason, is there any way I can avoid it(having a bad GPA)?
I am not really good at making friends either. And if I tend to read alone I either fll asleep or feel like eating except if its cramming something like the parts of a skeleton or the elements... How do I socialize, wats the code for all that?
I know nothing about Financial Aid either. Is it advisable for me to work in my freshman year?
Is it possible for me to start a christian group too, with or without the school's approval?
HEEEELLLPPP I am completely clueless and Idealess

Go to a community college for the first two years. Take the major courses like Eng 101-102, Math 101-102, Hist 101-102, etc. It's much cheaper than regular college and
transferable to any four year college. Remember to get good grades and don't goof off during class, after all you're paying for it!
Don't take "weenie" classes, like social dance or basket weaving, unless you're majoring in
phys ed. Take the hard stuff first, so you will learn discipline. If you have a high Grade Point Average, the four year colleges, will know that
you can handle it and may give you preference
over a high school applicant.

Dear Pretty Please,

College is nothing to freak out about, my dear. Assuming you have signed up for your fall freshman classes, as recommended by your advisor, start looking into clubs and extracurricular activities you can join. This is most important because you really need to make friends at school as soon as possible, so why not start now? The most important place to make friends, though, will be in the classes themselves as study groups that you help to create will help you get through the tough academic spots. It is better to study for a difficult test with some friends from class than it is to try to do it all yourself, alone. It is too hard that way for most people (though most kids in college surprisingly don't form study groups). Start meeting early in the semester, and try to have a regular day every week so you can cover the material completely before exams. (And try to read as much of the text book/assigned reading as you can before class and before study groups so you get the most out of it). Also, attend every class and don't ever think of skipping, unless you are ill. School comes first and the only way to have a chance of surviving is to never miss class. Sit up front and always take good notes. Always. It is important to introduce yourself to all of your teachers, preferably before the start of the semester. You can make a good impression that way and they will already know you and like you on the first day of class (always the best!)
And in future terms, always shop around for the best class, the one with the best professor and the best-required textbooks. Not everyone realizes that you can make your life a lot easier at school by doing a little research before you register for each term. Often there will be several sections of the same class, meeting at different times and taught by different teachers using different books. Don't get stuck with a dud of a prof or with the section that has the biggest, heaviest, most expensive books. Ask other students what teacher in a particular department to get or to avoid. And take a trip to the campus bookstore. They have all the books for all the classes there and you can see what I mean by the differences in required texts for the same class!
Lastly, with all the new friends you make, don't give in to social pressures that would make you less than you are, i.e. drinking, drugs, and sexual promiscuity. You have only one you and you need to take care of yourself and use sound judgment when choosing your friends and activities.
P.S. Don't hang out in the cafeteria too much; all the "free" food will make you fat! You have better things to do with your time.

16??? Wow you are pretty smart to be entering college! Stick to the books...don't party, it may hurt your grades. Don't trust everyone you meet. Drugs are all around...don't experiment! Enjoy your classes. Pick teachers whose classes fill up quickly! If you fail a class take a class that is 101. For instance, if you fail college algebra take intro to algebra. Don't quit if things get tough. Manage your time wisely. If you get a syllabus that says you have to do a paper by the end of the term, get it out of the way as soon as possible. It feels good to have it done before your classmates. It's satisfying to see your classmates sweat it out during finals while you have already studied for it and are prepared. Manage your time well!
