I am seaching for a monolgue that the character is a hardboiled private detective

Check the websites samuelfrench.com, dramatists.com and dramaticpublishing.com. They all offer books of monologues for actors, and I would think that they would contain descriptions of the monologues they contain. Otherwise, check the section with play literature in your local library and thumb through a few of the books of monologues.
