#1 To change percont to decimal, divide by 100%, or move the decimal two places to the left.

#2 What is 8% of $72?
?? = 8% x $72

#3 (same)

#4 15% of (x) $32 gives you the amount saved

#5 If the discount is 30%, then you are paying 70%; so multiply by the complement of 30% (which is 100% minus 30% = 70%), to get the amount you pay (your cost).

#6 (see #5)

#7 answer to #6 times (1 + 8%) = total cost
**This means the number plus itself times 8% using the distributive property.**

a percent is just a part of 100. for example, 45% =45/100=.45 I think you can do the rest of part one.

part two, change the percent to a decimal, then multiply by72

do part three the same way

do part four the same way.

do part five the same way, but then subtract your answer from 175

do part six the same way as part five

part seven...change the percent to a decimal, multiply be the answer in part six, then add the answer to the answer in part six.

I know it would be easier if I'd just given you the answers, but you wouldn't learn that way and I don't like doing other people's homework.

Good luck!
