well, if you are a writer and this is something you want to continue to do, then you will have to get used to having your work exposed and critiqued. This will be a good experience for you. Keep writing and from now on , the writings you dont want exposed - keep them at home and the rest give to teachers, put on a website, make a newsletter and you be in control of how and where and when others will see it. Dont be afraid to ask for feedback and be ready for criticism and negative feedback. there will be some that is not worth taking to heart but let the words of those experienced and encouraging help you to grow and improve as a writer

You shouldn't ever be ashamed to be what you are. If you are a writer, then it shouldn't be a big deal that everybody knows you are one.
If the other kids try and make fun of you about it, keep reminding yourself that they're completely immature jerks. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them look at you with new respect if they find out you're a serious writer, though.

Well i am a secret writer my self. I say if they think it is good then it is a good thing. Hey, remeber my favorite author S.E. Hinton (the outsiders, tex, taming the star runner, rumble fish) started publishing her books at 16 adn no one knew that she REALLY wrote.
PS read any and all of her books if you haven't yet!!

Thats awesome! If you can write, thats a great gift. I love writing myself! If people at school make fun of you, just brush it off. They are jealous because they cannot write like you do, and are trying to bring you down. Dont ever let them! And keep writing!

If you're a writer, do you do it because you want to be published or just to write your private thoughts? If you do it because you want to be published, then you better get over it, 'cause you're going to have to let LOTS of people read your stuff.

It depends on what they are saying about it. But if you have talent, now everyone knows it and that's nothing to be ashamed of. Look at it this way all writers, actors, and celebrities have critics, that's what gives us passion to push on. (wink)

Probably a good thing. If people like it, it's good publicity! And you could get a few new friends out of the deal!

Why did it happen to you? Well this kind of thing tends to happen to anybody. Its just that it happened to be you this time. My advice is to see if people are acting negatively. If they are just ignore them and let the news simmer down. If they act positively just take to it like glue. I mean it never hurt to have a talent did it?

That is good! Not everybody can be called a writer. For you to be called one is a good thing, indeed. :)
