NO! You are only 29 so your son must be VERY young. You are the parent. Why would you want to expose your child to more sex, violence, cuss words than he already has to be exposed to in this world. If you give in to him on this just think....when he is older what will he be wanting you to let him have or do? You need to guide your child as a loving parent and teach him be be a loving person, respectable to others, not a theif or a liar, to be a helpful person that other people WILL like and trust. I have 2 minor kids and I only let my 15 year old play teen games and my 7 year old rated e games. I am sure you will make the right choice. Remember what your kids are ex-osed to now, helps to shape what kind of adults they will be. What knid of person do youo want your child to grow up to be?

I think you should buy it and when you see him playing it, give him examples from reality of what makes the bad things wrong, and there consequences. Tell him what his alternatives or options are and there benefits to remind him of the better choices in life.

Get his input, what does he like about the game?
What does he think of those things in reality?

Its possible that he might love fighting in the game, but hate violence in reality.

Sharing knowlegde and wisdom may be the best you can do for an individual with choices.

It can work out through friendship

my friend has a son the same age. one day I caught him playing the game late at night. I kept quiet and watched him play. He was on a beach, hiding behind some low walls waiting for people to walk by him. When a woman would come by, he jumped out, ruffed them up a bit, and then proceeded to stab them to death. I popped out to let him know I was there and asked him plainly as a bud how he liked the game. Of course he loved it. I asked why he was killing Girls, and he replied that they wouldn't give him what he wanted , and he was going to teach them a lesson.I know that he wasn't my kid but I was Pissed. I told his mom and dad. They took the game away the same day.I know that good video games are judged by the graphics, and gameplay, which in the case of G.T.A. are damn good. But are you willing to listen to the stupid people who have no idea on how to raise a kid the right way .... Yes.. there is a right way, not that many of todays young parents know it (just look on the street and listen to them talk to their kids) let alone show some moral accountability in raising a child. To many people think that games are just games. Talk to your kid. Find out how they think about things in life. Remember we were kids too, and we have experience on our side. And most of all don't be a buddy, Be a parent. That's why you had a kid isn't it. Good luck. Consider eve's answer too.

Keep in mind that some of his friends may have the game, so if he goes over to their homes, he will probably play it. It is a really cool game, but it also depends on your childs age and their personality. Only you can decide for sure if it is right for him to own. You are the mom, after all.

Do it, if he is a modern kid he know half that stuff already and there was a study that show violent video games actually help kids become less violent and let them vent there frustrations on the video game instead of in real life, (kill person on video game, not in real life, thats a good thing.)

My son has this game and has been playing it on and off for over a year and I'm proud to report he's not beat up any police officers, nor has he started attacking and cussing out innocent by standers. Or stealing cars for that matter. It's all in preception and what you teach your child.

Yes.
Authority sucks, and thats what your being right now. If your that worried about it, look up why its "bad" on the internet. Personaly I've heard that its a great game and all of the people I know that own it really enjoy playing it. Buy it for him.

check the age restriction. if it's teen itll be ok . if it has adult content and rated r or above. i suggest not. I'm 33 and have 3 boys. One is son who is 9 going on 10. I'd really watch what appropriate age these games are intended for ok? I hope this helps you out.

Depends on how old your son is. Younger than 16, I'd say no. Lots of violence, men treating women like objects, language. If you are the parent, you need to give him boundaries. They will help him in the long run.

say no over and over again. Give in now and he will resort to begging to get everything from now on. Grand theft Auto is very violent, and should be played by adults only.
