I think this will be a challenge for Brazil. I really don't think that everybody on the team likes each other and each individual wants to be the star. If you watched the last game against Ghana, about 4 times Brazil got in behind the defense and someone was running at the far post. But instead of passing the ball for an easy goal, the player with the ball tried to shoot and hit the goalie. So I think Brazil has to step it up and can't rely on the few chances they have of getting behind the French defense. Also, Brazil's two center defenders need to figure out how to close the gap between them.

Brazil hasn't performed like the true champions that they are but on the other hand France is no walk in the park. Sure some french stars are aging and Ronaldo sure plays well for a fat man. For all you young guys who weren't born in 1998 and were in diapers, and a friendly remainder, your young soccer players were a bust and most of them have not performed well in this world cup. So be sure to watch this game because it will be a classic.

Ghana was a good challenge, actually. I don't think France will challenge Brazil either. Barthez is too iffy in goal.

I think it will be a heck of a match. France prefers to play against Brazil anytime. They don't mind Brazil attacking which means that Brazil defence will be wide open for them to infiltrate. I just hope they get an impartial referee since I just heard that a Spanish referee has been assigned to the match!!!!

Nope, sorry I don't agree with you. The true challenge is for the other teams that plays against Brasil. Brasil has no challenge ! You'll see...Come Saturday, Brasil will be victorious once again ! Like they have been since 2002 !
And.....people will find something to complain about them like they have been since THIS WC began.
Silly, silly people !
Accept the fact the Brasil is in a league of their own ! Champs !!

camelsvarsity2...you are like the smartest girl here..I have been saying that for weeks...France is not so much their challenge as their own ability to work as a team...Brasil IS playing at 80% and that could hurt them unless they step up and play as a team and not individuals...the thing is..they can coast through the quarterfinals on individual talent where most MUST step up as a team...that said...France knows what Brasil wants and will not concede easily..so brasil must work hard together and take...THAT said..they are doing good by having EVERYONE score...but you are right..Adriano should have passed to Ronaldinho on that 2 on one...but that happens with 11 very large egos on one side at one time...the coach is doing a great job by managing that...b ut Brasil must step up continually as a team..otherwise England or Portugal WILL beat them..and NOT due to better talent..but better synchronization as a TEAM..Brasil has the best talent since 1970..but they have to show they can put aside their star status in order to get the cup..

This is no joke and it's not 1998. I guess they go for the penalty shoot-outs! Otherwise Brazil will win 2:1?
