Well.. according wikipedia, she was fired by Barbara Walters for being a "airhead blonde" Considering that Wikipedia is not a very reliable source I'm not sure how true that is.

She and barbara walters got into it. She felt debbie was being to skanky and young. That's not the crowd that barbara wanted to attract. It was really ugly. Now star jones, barbara's on a role.
