Definately check out the buffets in the casinos!! They're usually really cheap and have some of the best food ever! Try a different one for every meal! That's what we did!
The one in Circus Circus has a huge variety but a lot of seafood (if anybody likes that, I don't really eat seafood so we skipped that one). Definately have to go to Arizona Charlie's (Or something like that, it's off the Strip a little bit, but it's sooo good). Don't shy away from the big fancy expensive casinos, sometimes they have really cheap buffets. Most I saw were around $10 and had a HUGE variety of food.
HAVE FUN!! And bring LOTS of sunscreen and light colored clothes, it will be **HOT** and **SUNNY**!!!!!!

It's really easy to get sucked into the expensive places because they are glizty and glam. I run tours for the children of high rollers, agd 7-17, and here's what they like to do and eat:
1. Roller coaster at the New York New York. Its on the 2nd level and they have carnival games there as well. Across the casino floor is the ESPN Zone, where the guys can watch sports, and everyone can enjoy a reasonable priced/good meal. There's also food outlets there, like Starbucks and Nathan's and pizza and seafood and a pub. Its a great place for all ages
2. The Showcase: its directly across from the NY NY...Coca Cola world, M&M world, Gameworks and fast food places within 20 paces. M&M world shows a fun 3D movie on the 3rd level (free) and Gameworks is fun for everyone. It has been a hit for all my clients, and my visiting family.
3. If you want to go off the strip, go to the new Red Rock casino, off the 215 and Charleston. Movie Theatre, arcade, great atmosphere, buffett, cafe, fast food, and nice sit down places. It's really nice there.
Hope you have a great time! Drink plenty of water...its sizzling here!

As far as buffets, Sam's Town has the best! If you're looking for a restaurant that all ages can enjoy, go to the MGM and eat at the Rainforest Cafe. Great food, great prices, really cool restaurant!! What can you do between lunch & dinner? If you're staying at the MGM, you can go to the waterpark that is there. (I'm not sure if you can get in if you're not staying at the hotel) or the teenagers could go to New York, New York and ride the rollercoaster ($10.00) and to the Stratosphere to ride there. The girls (or ladies) would probably prefer shopping. Also don't miss the Aquararium in Mandalay Bay. ($15.00) but worth it!

Tons of places to eat but with a group people and some being young I would say BUFFETS all the way. I mean you can grab fast food on the strip or if you want something more interesting there are great places in the hotels (Grand Lux is mid-high priced in the Venetian, and Mandalay has Red, White, Blue) but with the buffet you are garunteed to please all and you know what your spending.
As far as what to do, well its Vegas, there is TONS to do. I say check out the hotels for sure during the day, ride the coaster at New York New York, the Gondolas at the Venetian, check out the animals at the Mirage, the show at Treasure Island, the aquarium at Mandalay, the mall at Ceasars as well as Bellagio and of course the fountain at Bellagio! Shows, Shows, Shows! Your limited with night life bc your ages in the group but most shows will be all ages and Cirque De Solie is AWESOME. Just steer clear of Zumanity bc it is the "adult" show. Mystere and O are the best I have seen. Try a dinner show, they are always fun and take care of dinner as well. Concerts! There are always great concerts-I loved Elton John but know that he is not always "shy" so it depends on how protective of the younger ones you are. House of Blues in Mandalay always has something fun going on.
You can pick up a booklet in any cab that will give details on whats going on!
If you are at a good hotel, HIT the pool during one or two days, get a cabanna and enjoy!

The buffets in the casinos are probably the hot tip. I haven't been there in a while, but a $4.99 prime rib dinner wasn't unusual.
One hot tip...eat in a hotel with a cheap buffet, but gamble somewhere else. They're making up what they lose on the food in the casino!

No one place, the buffets at the Hotels are pretty good. Treasure Island, and Harrahs have good Buffets. But to be honest, every thing in Vegas in kinda pricy. And trust me, I was just there in May and 22.95 for a lunch buffet is not cheap!
