I am perpared (parents lol), and I would not be asking if they were not prepared to. We have all the right stuff, a good place to keep it and everything...I just need the money! I am trying to get some baby sitting jobs, and collecting donations stuff like that...I am really good with animals! Any suggestions...I am a very experinced rider and very experinced with the care and maintnence it takes to own a horse, and ready to have a horse of my own.

Well, if you are as horsecrazy and experianced as me, get a job as a stable hand. You are being paid to be around horses!!! Right now, I have a job teaching riding lessons and working people's horses. I can't belive I'm getting paid to do it! I had horses all my life up until the last year and I'm crazy about them and would die for one right now!! I'm saving for one too.

If you have access to horses now, you could offer riding lessons for a very decent hourly wage. Other options ... housecleaning or laundry services? A garage sale? Get a regular retail or restaurant job? Sell old clothes, makeup, CDs, etc. on eBay? Petsitting? Housesitting? Church childcare positions? Once you have enough for a down payment, perhaps you can work out a payment plan with the stable or seller that will allow you to get the horse right away with the down payment and pay the rest off over time.

Good luck!

I do not know really what to say other than run an ad in the paper advertising for odd jobs, have a yard sale, but are you ready for the expense really? If you are then great, but if you have to raise the money for the horse, is your parents going to help you with the food and care?if so good luck and hope you raise the money to get what you love.

Well, to impress your parents you could be a groom and clean stalls, clean tack, braid, and all the stuff you would normally do if you had a horse. You could help people with errands.Theres also yard sale, mowing lawn, and i would continue with babysiting.Oh and you could also ride horses for people whose horses need exercise.GOOD LUCK!

how about writing a book centered on your love and obvious passion for horses, anchored by your experience -- and thus, comprehensive knowledge-- of horses. non-fiction, perhaps, in memoir format? or perhaps you can write a guide to raising, grooming, breeding, and riding horses.
i have another idea, but it may very well be crazy. i read an unbelievable story about an actress, named Alyson Hannigan, who actually had a fan show up on her doorsteps with a horse! she (the very generous fan) was giving it to her as a gift, free of charge! so, probelm solved. become a famous actor/actress and then tell your fans you want a horse. hey, it could work!

found the article! article and source follows:

AMERICAN PIE star ALYSON HANNIGAN learned how dedicated her fans are, when one generous stranger gave her a horse as a present.

Hannigan received the oversized gift during her run on the hit TV show BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER - but she had nowhere to keep it and politely declined.

She says, "We had the most amazing fans, very generous fans. One in particular tried to give me a horse, which was very generous, but it was very odd.

"She showed up to my house with the horse. At the time I was living in this sort of BRADY BUNCH neighbourhood. It was up on a cul de sac and the dogs were going crazy, they were barking. I looked out the window and there's this horse in the middle of the cul de sac.

"My husband went out and she was like, 'Is Alyson here? I have a delivery for her.' I'm like in (my pyjamas). So I go out and she's like, 'I want to give you this horse.'

"It turned out that she was a horse trainer and she was like, 'I want to share my art with you.' But her art takes a lot of maintenance! What do I do - drain the swimming pool and keep the horse in there?

"It was a long conversation of me convincing her I couldn't take the horse and my husband standing there going, 'Don't take the horse!' He knows I love animals and he was scared."

The lady in question has since sent pictures of the horse to Hannigan to assure her it's in good health

p.s. - was that horse trainer anyone you know?

Sounds like you are off to a good start... I mowed lawns for $10 each depending on size, maybe you could do that. I know the feeling of wanting one sooo bad, I just can't have one, but would love to.
