lizards as well as snakes do this when they are either hungry or they just want some attention and are tired of being in that cage. Think about it if you were stuck in a house all day every day wouldn't you want some fresh air?So just let it walk around with you. Do NOT let it free in the house, this causes many problems. number 1, it will prolly escape, go into an area where it shoudn't be such as behind the stove, in the cabinets,in the tv . Plus if itwas to eat insects that aren't hand raised you are actually taking risk of your lizard getting diseases.

is it a new pet of yours? then it just doesnot know yet that that is the end of the terrarium and she is just trying it so it will stop shortly. so provided the conditions like temperature, terrarium size, etc are ok, it means nothing to worry about. if this is not the case: as the sunshine travels round my room mine gecko sometimes wants to get to the sunny spot that he can see from the terrarium. or if there is a fly outside the terrarium or a box of crickets out of reach, then it is obvious. is there something that may give her stress???

I have seen young geckos and geckos that were kept in opaque cages do this. They don't understand the glass. It looks like they should be able to go through but they can't. They will outgrow it.

It wants out! If you have no other pets, consider letting it run free. You will notice a decrease in flies and other bugs around your home.
