Rowling to kill two in final Potter book
Mon Jun 26, 3:52 PM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - Children's author J.K. Rowling has revealed that at least two characters will die in the seventh and final installment of her bestselling Harry Potter series, but was careful not to say who.

Children and adults are expected to rush and buy the final Harry Potter novel in their tens of millions when it is complete, and if the publication of the sixth book is anything to go by, secrecy surrounding the plot will be tight.

Rowling has already said that the final chapter of the seventh book was written long ago.

"The final chapter is hidden away, although it's now changed very slightly," she said in an interview broadcast on Monday on Britain's Channel 4. "One character got a reprieve, but I have to say two die that I didn't intend to die."

Harry becuz it is the end of the seires and she isn't making anymore books. I think a couple things. It could be Ron or Hermione becuz one would sacrifice themselves to save the other becuz they r in love w/ each other. But it wouldn't make since to kill off only 2 members of the trio. I also think if one of the other trio memebers dies, then the other will become a professor at Hogwarts (maybe Defense Against the Dark Arts). It could be Hagrid becuz Hagrid would risk his life for Harry. My main theory is Snape becuz he would show his true loyalty to Dumbledore and Harry by sacrifing himself to protect him even though he dislikes him very much becuz he hated Sirius and James with a passion. In my heart there is also a chance Snape is the one she saved from dying, or I think it was a Weasley or Lupin (but I don't think Lupin will die everyone loves him). By as we see in the 6th book we shouldn't expect anything becuz she killed off Dumbledore and no one saw that coming.
*I think she is excluding Voldemort becuz everyone already knows he is going to die becuz Rowling would get angry fan mail if she didn't*

If she didn't intend for them to die, then that may very well mean Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. (gasp!) Another possibility may be Arthur and Molly Weasley.

My guess is that either Draco Malfoy or Severus Snape got the reprieve.

It is also very likely that Harry himself will die. Rowling kept that tidbit separate from the information about the other deaths. It is clear that she is aware of what happened with L. Frank Baum and the Oz books, and wants to close the door completely to sequels, even using other characters instead of Harry as the main character.

I think Harry and Lord Voldemort. I think Harry might be a horcrux so he will have to die to keep Lord Voldemort from coming back.

Harry, of course. Why would she stop writing if their was still someone to write about? Poor Harry. Maybe along with his love at the time. Maybe Hermoine as well. . .Who knows, maybe even hero and villian.

My gut feeling is that she's going to kill off BOTH Voldemort and Harry.

For sure, one will be Jenny. The other will be either Ron, trying to save her or Harry. I think it will be Ron.
