John McCain. He's a moderate right, and for all of the good reasons. He is fiscally conservative and socially moderate, a view that will keep our country powerful and perhaps make it more ethical than a total conservative. He didn't vote for the gay marriage amendment because he felt it should be left for the states to decide. That is what really sold me on him. Laws should be made to put the people in power, not to fit our representatives' personal agendas. And it is true that some regions support marriages and some don't...why not just let people choose the environment in which they live, instead of having all of them be the same by overpowering states' rights with federal laws? McCain is pretty sweet, and I think that he would be able to help this country through its current financial troubles and prioritize which social issues need to come now or can be saved for later, when we're not in/recovering from a war. As for the democrats, I don't think any of them would do well. I was all for Obama until he recently gave is spiel on how we need prayer in public schools.

Joe Liebarman. However, he is too centrist to win the Democratic nomination. Years ago, he would be have been acceptable on the Democratic ticket. Today, my beloved Democratic party has fallen for the far left wing idealogy. In addition, politics have gotten so nasty that intelligent people will not run for public office. Still.....I will vote for the least of evils & hope for the best.
