I think you will be better off if you do not shave. I have the same problem with my feet. I heard about a new creme that came to the pharmacies a few months ago. I looked at the product ingredients on the back of the bottle. It said that the active ingredients are: mineral oil, mentol and aloe vera. I looked in my bathroom cabinet, I saw I have a bottle of aloe vera gel, baby oil which the same thing of mineral oil and a muscle pain killer ctreme. I mixed a spoon of each of the above and since then I am applying my own made creme to my feet. I feel less ichy now. May be you can try this method too. And remember, your medication does not have to be costly. You can buy a bottle of aloe vera, baby oil and muscle/arthrithis creme from your local discount store. I hope you feel better. I wish I could help you more. Good Luck.

Scaling is good. that means it is healing up. I assume you had some raw open areas before. You need to shave the area to help with the application of the ointment to help it go on to your skin without being blocked from reaching the area. Put the ointment on for at least 2 more weeks. Even after it looks healed, you still need to apply the ointment so that the itch does not come back. Been there before.

i had that before, so i know what you are talking about. here is what i do when i get the jock itch it does help me alot. Get a bar of natural ivory soap and get a clean wash cloth and soak the cloth and put a large lather of ivory soap on them and then use it just like you are bathing and then rinse the soap off and dry it with a clean cloth and then put in a dry clean underwear. Try this it will help, i know cause i have done this and i finally got a relief.

if you've been using medication for a month with little response, probably time to visit the dermatologist. could be something other than jockitch.

you're showering too too much.. especially if you're using soap each one of those showers and you live in a dry climate.. try only showering once a day or once every other day until the itch subsides. put vitamin e on it and you'll be fine.
