A lot of people like Wondir or Answerbag. Yahoo! Answers is by far the most active, but for factual questions you should be able to ask them on any Q&A site. The third link below has a list of some of other Q&A sites available.

One alternative is www.youthink.com
YouThink is similar to Yahoo answers, but, not as good, because your questions have to be approved before they are placed in the question category
It can take a day or 2 for approval

you got an answer.............. well yeah because there is no other place like this because in forums they usually don't check them out...... this is even international, this place has one million people and forums only 100 seems alot but answers is huge, there is no other great place then yahoo answers.
and even points... just like a game and even Ask The Planet 2006.....its totally worth it... prizes...points what else can you ask for, well you can ask yahoo answers.... c'mon this place rules no other like it.... well sometimes you have your bad days and good days but you always got yahoo answers.
this place is everything you need forums are dumb answers my friend is a PLACE THAT WILL TOTALLY HELP you so please stay.

This is the only one like it, afaik
better is specific forums or newsgroups, so you can ask specific group and get a more specific answer. instead of a lot of uneducated answers.
ps. A Kids version would be good, because there is a lot of questionable content being asked.......

For tough questions yes. But if your looking for facts, like "when was George Washington born" then www.ask.com is better. The website will answer you directly
