I don't believe in torture. The person should however pay for the crime. I do believe in hard labor vs getting a free education, watching TV, working out in the gym.... It's punishment not a hotel. The workload and expectations should fit the crime. Healthy food yes. Tasty well no. Just my opinion. Cut the grass for the elderly and disabled. Home repairs for those unable. Make these people useful and to earn their keep.

If anyone molested my kids, with a male i'd weld his dick into a a bench vise, hand him a rusty butter knife and pour 5 gallons of fuel oil in the shed he's in (fuel oil burns alot slower than gas so it wouldn't just whoosh, he'd see the flames and get more of a torture)
toss the zippo in the fuel oil stand outside with a firing squad so if he does decide to cut his member off then stepping outside would be his death sentence, if he stays and burns he dies too, so either way is a win, win situation.

Don't know about Europe, but I understand that men who have raped and killed children don't need the state to torture them... The other prisoners will deal with it, quite unofficially. Suffice it to say that the other inmates make very sure that the child molester has a VERY clear idea of what the kid suffered, and gets frequent reminders...

I think that the family of those little girls should be able to spend an hour alone in a room with this monster -- and whatever happens ....happens. I can only imagine what I would do

Were it so easy...
If there was proof - beyond a shadow of a doubt, then I think the guilty party should be executed. However, a lot of the people convicted of crimes and waiting on death-row have had their sentences over-turned, as DNA testing is proving they were not guilty. So it is, we could potentially be killing innocent people. I do think pedophiles should be destroyed - no rehabbing them, just eliminating anyone who sexually exploits and kills kids.

I think they should be left in a room with the mom & dad for 5 minutes alone, then put in a stockade in the middle of town just like they used to do then jail with NOTHING for them to do but think

Absolutely. We should have a system where a punishment fits the crime. If someone intentionally kills another, they deserve to die. If they torture someone before killing them. They should be tortured before they are killed. I guarantee you that would dramatically decrease violent crimes.
