Yes, it's insane how my coworker who sits next to me would EMAIL me to ask me if I want to go for lunch together..when he's <1 meter away.

No. what I think is happening is the Internet is letting us meet more people from different parts of the world and letting us socialize with a much bigger number of people. As for knowing your next door neighbor, that's not always a good thing. If you live in a small town you know your neighbors anyway. If you live in a big city you may be to busy to know your neighbors. I find the people I meet on line are much more interesting then the people next door.

On a personal level, meaning seeing people face-to-face and showing emotion yes. However, massivley multiplayer online games are becoming a new way for people to socialize and talk with each other. There's a lot of non-game related chat that goes on within the game and some people have even met in the game world and get married in real life!

For the most part, no. The internet contains many ways to interact with others in a society -email, messenger clients, and web forums. While it may not be done physically, face to face, it is still social interaction.

probable, I advise, right here i'm answering a question for someone whom i have under no circumstances once met in my existence. So yeah, pcs are taking on the international. As technologies advances, that is in person-friendly words going to worsen, too.

no,but CELLPHONES have,people are on them while in line &checking out & in dr office waiting rooms-every where they are everywhere,&they dont stop jabbing long enough to say thank you or have a nice day or go #%^& your self-to the contrary i feel like i am more social now that i am finally on line.have a nice day!

yep. No one writes letters or talk in person anymore. Everyone text message , e-mail etc.
