There are many conversion kits out there.Some are expensive and change many parts and some just the fittings.R134 would be most common conversion.Used in most New vehicles starting in about mid 90"s.You should have it done by a certified shop so the proper recovery of the R12 is done. You can check your dealer or local radiator shops do the conversions.Sometimes you have to change out the oil to PAG oil.Usually cheaper to convert than to fix an R12 system due to cost of R12 Freon.

CO2 or carbon dioxide is not a refrigerant, it is an inert gas and does not work in car ac systems because it is corrosive.

R134a is much more environmentally freindly and costs less. The conversion kit is two fittings and costs about 30 dollars.

If you're not worried about a huge fireball in the old days people used to put propane in there. Runs really cold i hear

Co2 wont work.An airconditioning system works on the effect of cooling by evaporation. This requires a liquid to change states from a liquid to a gas. CO2 is still a gas at the temperature ranges an A/C system operates.

co2 you have to be joking right, refrigerant is a gas compressed into liquid when cooled, um co2 can not be used for an ac system, and if you convert an r12 to r134a, all you need is to change your fittings and refrigerant oil and your good to go, i believe r12 is a mineral oil and r134a is a pag/synthetic

remove the existing CFC R12 to your car using vacuum then, replace the filter and refill the 134-A xooling element to your car aircon system to you car aircon technician.

they have an environmentaly friendly replacement take it to a school shop and have them pump out the old stuff with the pcbs and freon then they should replace with sealer dye pack one can and then 3 to four of the neww stuff you can do it but you dont have a way to deal with the cancer causing r12 and oil so find a pump and then replace according to pressure and so on the kits are at walmart to retrofit and fill
