I’m not sure we are supposed to know where the Golf Course is located. This guy parachutes into the enemy territory. He has to dig holes and hide by day, and he is doubtful that he will ever get out. His saving grace is a radio. However, he cannot give his location over the radio because the enemy is listening. His comrades talk to him during the night, and the walk him out by using a code that is related to his golf course back home. Thus, the Golf Course is a code that is used to help a soldier escape enemy territory in Vietnam.

The novel that relates this story is Bat 21 by William Anderson. I think it was based on a true story. It seems like I might have seen film clips of it in class at one time, but I am not certain.

Great story that illustrates the heroism of a TEAM!
