They're not made to do that - its a child-safety feature. And annoying as all get-out.

Typically cars are designed with backseats pushed into the area the rear tires occupy. This pushing back gives more backseat room, but prevents rear windows from rolling all the way down. If you look at your car/SUV, you will see that the wheel well intrudes into the rear door and if the window went all the way down, it would have to bend around this space.

Additionally, many companies build this in as a safety feature even if there is room for the windows in the door. Rear seats are for children and companies recognize that people don't want their children rolling down the rear windows, which would allow children to climb/jump out if adults are not paying.

some cars you can remove the inside panel and there is a stop that keeps the window from going all the way down. If you remove them you should be able to do so. This only works in a few cases.

You don't! It's a child safety issue. Doing so may void any warranty though.

it can,t be done,,for the reason of safety,,i get asked this question a lot,,but always,s have to give the same answer,,but be glad you can,t,,because if one of your kid,s fell out,,you probably would hate your self for doing it,,wouldn,t you.
