i have been cutting myself since my parents got put away on drug related charges. i now live with my older brother who is 19 and VERY machure for his age we never been close & he is gay he doesnt drink so he is a good boy...and he keeps asking me if i am a cutter i am but i tell him i am not cuz i am afarid that he might put me in counseling. how can i tell him that i am but i dont want to go into counseling

If you don't want to go into counseling, then why not come up with some reasonable alternative suggestion to give him? If you simply tell him you're a cutter and then do nothing about it, what purpose will that have served? It sounds like you have a lot of respect for him, so just try to be honest with him. Hopefully he will hear what you have to say, and by the same token you should try to take into account what he says. I'm sure he has your best interest at heart.

Tell him that you cut, but then before he can say anything to you, quickly tell him that you are willing to stop if he helps you. Tell him that you don't want to go into counseling, and that you think that he can help you.

He is a good person, then he will help you. Be honest with him.Saave yourself. You don't have to mutilate yourself. You have friiends that care. I am one and i have never met you.
