I watch the Baby Einstein's with my two year old and cannot fast forward beyond the Little Einsteins commercial (my remote won't go to main menu). I'm anti-Little Einsteins because of it.

I try fast forwarding, the menu button, but there is an icon that flashes during these painful moments that have a RED X through them meaning the feature is not available. I won't buy Little Einsteins now on principle.

I agree. I have a little boy who watches DVDs like that and they have all this nonsense before and sometimes after you have to watch along with the main feature. Some adult movies are that way too where you have to watch previews for others, and it is annoying. But nothing is worse than having an unhappy child who wants to watch their show, but first has to see commercials!
I guess as children get over it's good to teach them patience, but for the age my son is now it's a little annoying and uncalled for.

Oh I hate that! I also hate those anti-piracy commericals that are on DVDs too. Yeah, you can hit "next" to go past it, but every time I hear that song ... ARGH!
And what about TV commercials at the theater? OHHH I hate that.
The reasons your Baby Einstein's DVDs have those commercials, though, is because they want to hook your kid on them. They want your kids to watch those previews so they will say "mommy, daddy, I want that one too!". Genius marketing - really annoying the consumer. Chances are you'd buy more anyway so why force commercialism onto your kids???

There is usually a button you can press to direct you to the main menu so you don't have to watch the commercial.

Sorry your remote doesn't work properly. I have no problems with previews, etc. of other movies.. I simply fast forward if they bother me. Just like tv commercials.. I just hit 'mute' until the show I'm watching returns.

I hate it. I always fast-forward to the main menu. I rarely watch the trailers too.

That's how they pay for the movie to get out there! Some movies won't go through the commercials!

I think it sucks. One of the many things that make DVD's better than videos is that you could skip that stuff. I have found that it seems to occur primarily in kids movies. I guess they figure that kids will see the preview and the beg their parents to take them to or buy them the advertised movies.

When that happened to me once, I just went and did something else for a while, then came back a few minutes later when the commercials were finished.
