Soccer was invented in England, but some will argue the Myans were playing in back in the 1400's.

There is no answer to this in history if the Myan's were playing.

the first human to kick around anything to keep it away from someone else trying to kick it somewhere else ... try probably about a few tens of thousands of years ago.

even in the slums of Rio they kick around cans if they can't afford a ball ... ask Pele how he started. :) the game comes naturally to every human culture.

as to who "wrote" the official rules used these days, try the Brits and i don't know the year. it has been evolving for a long long time.
