I have a boyfriend that I would never leave for the world. My friend (a boy) recently told me that he likes me. I don't like him like that at all. He knows that, and he knows that he can't be with him, but what do I tell him so his feelings aren't too hurt?

My friend has been a good friend for a long time, so we've known each other for a while. We didn't just meet or anything like that.

A girl who once broke up with me made me a spaghetti dinner. It's hard to feel too bad with good pasta! She was really trying to be nice and the meal as a gesture seemed to say it better than any words. Good luck!

My sister had that same problem. She just told him that she cherished their friendship too much to lose him over something that she knew would never work anyway. There's a lot more to this story, but to make a long story short, eventually after a few years she realized that she did have feelings for him. Now what started out to be a wonderful relationship tuned out pretty ugly. I know that this is only one scenario out of trillions and I just wanted you to know the repercussions if maybe you felt bad and decided that maybe just one date couldn't hurt. They were once great friends and now they don't even wave when they see each other. Maybe my answer got off on the wrong track but I just wanted to share this story with you. Good luck with your friendship!

There really isn't anyway to let someone down easy, no matter how you do it someone always gets hurt, but if he is a true friend he will understand. Just let him know that you are in a committed relationship. But DON'T tell him "your very important to me and I want us to be friends" that is like a direct stab in the heart.

WOW similar situation here... A friend of 6 years and i don't have feeling for him but he is a dear friend... Just tell him that you want to remain the best of friends and being together another way would destroy your friendship and you can not chance that.. because you never want to lose him as a friend.... FRIENDS ARE FOREVER AND MEN COME AND GO... good luck sweetie

There is no easy way when you're dealing with people's emotions. You should just be straight forward, and make the message clear. It may seem hard but it will all work out in the long-run.

Oh don't be so sensitive. Take a ride with your boyfriend and tell him bluntly and loudly as he rounds a turn on a tree-lined road at high speed. If he cracks, he wasn't worth the effort anyway.

His feelings aren't important.
Tell him that you are with your boyfriend and that isn't going to change, and that you don't have romantic feelings for him and that isn't going to change either. Be calm and pleasant but very clear. It is important that you communicate these ideas to him without confusion.
Best wishes and God bless.

tell him you really like the person you're with, and that it's hard to feel for anybody else when you already have a great person in your life.
