First person to answer it correctly gets 10 points. I got this from a garage sale, the lady had no idea what it was. Neither do I, but I know it's used to hang things and that it was made in england. Time of creation is unknown, but I'm guessing 1940's-1960s.

What you have there are 2 "mock" bed warmers. In case you don't know what a bed warmer is, it's what the old-timers used to put hot coals from the fire in, then put under the covers to keep the bed warm at night.

These are not actual working bed warmers, just "look-a-likes". They're pretty cool looking.

It looks like a modern day bed warmer and they were using it long before 1940. People would put hot coals into the pan and place them under the covers till they went to bed.

Wow...my Mom had those things up on her walls in the 60's. They haven't gotten any prettier.

What you have, my friend, is a poor representation of a pair of bed warmers...you know...folks used to put hot coals or embers in these metals pans and slide them between bedsheets to warm the beds.

But these aren't true bedpans..just a mock up to hang on the walls for decoration.
