There are so many people, from those religious groups that protest at funerals to those activists who publicly decry our being in the middle east, who protest in America. My question is, if they want peace so bad, why are they protesting in one of the few countries in the world that is not currently experiencing a war within their borders? Why wouldn't those people bring their message of peace to those countries who truly need it - like Sri Lanka, who have been experiencing a civil war for the past 30 years with a terrorist organization - the Tamil Tigers? Who didn't they bring their message of peace to Iraq, who's Kurdish people where slaughtered by the hundred of thousands by chemical weapons and military might over decades of Saddam Hussein's rule?
Isn't protesting within our borders about peace similar to walking into a crowded Denny's and screaming about how there are starving people in Africa? While the statement is true - couldn't you get more done IN AFRICA?

The answer is that most protesters do not believe their message enough to bring to those areas that truly need it. They know that they have the freedom to protest in this country, because of the fact we have been willing to fight tyranny in the past. They also know that if they were to take their message of peace to those other countries who do not enjoy peace and freedom, they may very well be killed by the people they are trying to help. Too many people enjoy their freedom of speech, and take for granted the blood that was shed to achieve it.
Lets keep things in perspective. Yes were are now involved in a war in another country - however the combined losses over three years (combatant and non-combatant) do not equal the number of losses we experienced in one day from a terrorist attack within our borders - something that has not happened again ever since we took the fight into the enemy's territory.

Oh good grief. For starters, the ones protesting at funerals are not anti-war but anti-homosexual.

Take care of your own side of the street before worrying about others. Our nation is in the middle of a needless war, killing thousands of innocents. If you want to rescue people, start at home by protesting against the administration who started this awful mess in Iraq.

They just want attention good bad or otherwise. The bigger fools of themselves they make the more the media is attracted to them. If they got no media coverage they would go away. I would like to see them show up at a funeral where i live at in Texas. That would go over like a turd in a punch bowl and they would be in jail so fast there heads would spin and I assure you they would pray for the police to arrest them after the crowd gets done with there worthless asp.
