My first motorcyle was a Honda CL100 (100cc) - It would go about 70mph, but that was really struggling.

I now have a Yamaha R1 (1000cc) - It will go about 180mph.

The engine displacement isn't your best indicator. A 200 cc will not go twice as fast as 100cc. Depending on the transmission or gearing the 100 may actually go faster than the 200.

Big does not mean faster here.

means and weight. 650 (if it really is the SV650) is a lighter sport motorcycle. The ZX-10 would have extra means and a much broader band (so that you gained't ought to apply the gears a lot) yet will be heavier in corners, site visitors, etc. If it really is an older 650, probably only means, as those motorcycles were as heavy as a present day 1000 and the load distribution has more desirable in contemporary years. besides the undeniable fact that the bigger engine will use extra gas. (Oh, and reckoning on your motorcycle's type, the driving position will be significantly diverse!)
