No Bush is not an intellectual and the words shouldn't be used in the same sentence without a major asterik or footnote to explain why they appear in proximity.

To watch and listen to the man talk gives it all away. He appears very uncomfortable with any statement he makes and afterwards seems to breathe a sigh of relief that he was able to cobble a noun and verb together in a sentence. He is tense the whole time and then smirks if he is able to mutter some repetitive dogma that the venom-breathing religous zealots in congress want to hear him say.

So, to sum it up: a smirking, illiterate, uncomfortable-in-public president can never count as an intellectual. His intellect and over-compensating mannerisms are usually found in a dry cleaner owner who you don't really enjoy going to; or a golf caddy that you wish you were not stuck with; or even a gas station mechanic that you want to trust but for some reason just can't. But an intellectual? Never in a mega-million years.

You just gave me a great idea for a question. If GWB weren't born to a wealthy, political and connected family and based on his personality and intellect, what job could you see him performing and why? Would he be good at it? Would you like to work with him? If so, why? What do you think you could gain from your association with him? Could you trust him to work independently? How do you think he would get along with his coworkers?

He got his BA from Yale & his masters from Harvard. No amount of money can buy a degree from either school. Reputation is everything to them. He graduated from Yale with higher grades than John Kerry had according to Yale. The President & First Lady have breakfast & read the paper every morning together. He is an avid reader. Does no one watch the news or read at all?
He is smart enough to make the liberals think he is dumb.

Yale and contrary to what the Liberals will say about him, being dumb and a slacker is not in the Vocab at Yale, not even if your Mom and Dad pays for your Classes.

Bush has an Intellegence IQ but alas Highly Intellegence persons get insulted by lower forms of Life who's levels match that for a former Manager of mine that was not even registered to vote and had no idea what a Member of Congress was.

Yes, he graduated from Yale. So? That obviously doesn't make him a genius. You don't understand the power of money in a bourgeois society. Money can make an ugly man beautiful and, in Bush's case, an intellectual.

lol...he got in cause of who he was... he went to Yale, by the way.
No, I don't think he's entirely without brains like some people I know, but I definitely don't think he's an intellectual, especially not one of the smartest ever

I notice how all the Librals are always SHOUTING HERE IN CAP-LOCK MODE...

What a shame they are so mad...aww, I feel bad for them...poor little angry librals...don't cry...ok, NEVERMIND - go ahead and CRY!!! You pansies...cry...WAAA-WAAA...BOO-HOO...poor little babies...

ANYHOW...back to your question. I believe he is a smart fellow...he just has the appearnce of looking and speaking like a not so smart guy...but lets face it...who from Texas does sound smart? Look at AlGore...he speaks good, but he is raving lunitic...

I think Bush is a very smart man and a good president...sure I wished that he would of done a few things better...but we are human and make some mistakes...but overall he is a good president and a great man...

Now...the ACLU just picked up a case about male cheerleaders being discriminated against saying that everyone regardless of gender had a right to play any sport they choose...
You can't go against your buds at the ACLU can you? And yes, I think G-dub is an intellectual...
are you?

The President does not read books, nor does he read newspapers. To me, a mark of intelligence is one who reads in order to broaden their perspective and intelligence. Anyone who has to wear an earpiece for Karl Rove to feed him the answers to questions is NOT TOO BRIGHT.
