As I have mentioned before in some of my answers, I am ill. Welll this past week I have experienced a loss of vision in my right eye. It was horrible. So I mentioned it to my pcp doctor & he performed a regular eye exam to see the extent. Well, with both eyes, I could see line 4, with my left eye I could see line 4 but with my right eye I could barely see the 2nd line. My illness is known to spread to the eyes to cause blindness but I hope that it doesn't come to that. So here is my question:
Would you rather lose your sight so you can hear or would you rather lose your hearing so that you could see??
Ponder on it a bit. I never thought about it until I was faced with it.

I have an upcoming appointment with an eye doctor in July. I am nervous about this appointment more than going to have a tooth pulled. (I imagine everyone gets nervous before going to see a dentist. Thanks everyone for your answers, I can't chose a best answer yet, I have to wait 24 hours.

Wow, that's a deep question, but with failing eyes of my own due to diabetes, I have thought about it and concluded that I would rather have my hearing than my eyesight. Because after all, if God is willing, I will always remember what I have "seen" in this world, but without my hearing, I might not hear an intruder coming towards me, or following me, or the birds chirping, or a child crying, a river stream, or rainfall..... Yep, I can always remember what I have seen, but I want to "always be able to hear them"...........hope this helps, and good luck to you.

OMG! I am so sorry about what happened to you. This is a really hard question. But I would rather loose my hearing rather than vision, with vision, at least you still can act like you are normal and do a lot of things; as long as you are able to read, people can always write things to you. But if you lose your sight, of course you could hear everything, but the thing's that without sight, you can barely do anything without some kind of assistant. May god bless you, hope you'll get better!

I suppose it is a query of first-class alternatively than volume. There are a few men and women with well suggestions right here who would make a change come what may. Unfortunately, I suppose the gigantic majority of the men and women on Y!A could give a contribution little to not anything. We're most likely dabblers. If I used to be a rather fine thinker who desired to make a change I'd in general be writing a booklet or instructing at a tuition or each.

I believe it's a query of great rather than quantity. There are some humans with good strategies right here who could make a difference by some means. Sadly, I consider the mammoth majority of the individuals on Y!A would contribute little to nothing. We're more often than not dabblers. If I used to be a rather satisfactory thinker who wanted to make a difference i'd ordinarily be writing a guide or teaching at a institution or each.

i imagine it really is a question of high quality particularly than volume. There are some those with strong ideas right here who can make a huge difference someway. regrettably, i imagine the vast majority of the folk on Y!A would make a contribution little to no longer something. we are quite in many circumstances dabblers. If i became an exceedingly large logician who wanted to make a huge difference i'd probable be writing a e book or preparation at a school or both.

So sorry to read about your illness. Truth is, I'd rather lose my hearing than vision if it came down to a choice.
I know a lady who had a brain tumor that was operated on successfully, but as a result, she lost all sense of taste. She cannot taste food or alcohol or anything. The surgeon told her after the surgery how sorry he was and said that he gave her a facelift while he was at it. Small consolation, but hey ho.. she looks 20 yrs younger than she is :-)
Take care

I value both, but would rather lose my hearing if I absolutely positively had to. I'm sorry about your situation. And promise u will be in my prayers. In fact, you'll be OK. I pray for all the ppl in this world every night b4 I go to bed, I'm not saying my prayer will help your fate, but it will do something along with your families and those of your own. keep the faith and God will deliver u through

I would rather loose my eye sight because I've seen so much horrible things in my life that the images have tainted my views of the world, besides I'm a much better listener and my hearing is very good.

First, WHEN is your primary care doctor going to send you to a optomologist? THEY are eye surgery doctors who should be looking at your eyes!! If he/she does not, call your medical insurance company and have them help you in finding one, getting an appointment.

I would rather KEEP my sight and hearing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hope you get better.

Although I hope to never make that decision, I think that I would rather lose my hearing so that I could see.
