Especially if it's winter or rainy weather, the garage is a sensible choice of locations. During the warmer months I kind of like the nostalgia of sitting behind a dumpster at the railroad freight yard because for one thing I feel a sense of adventurous privacy there, and for another thing the noise of passing trains drowns out my vomiting sounds. But that's only during my revival and recovery, so I can get myself together and go home again.

If making love to a beer can doesn't hurt, go for it! I'd rather my ole man go get drunk in the garage than around me and my kids and who can rationalize to a drunk anyway. Just remember, while you're in the garage avoiding conversation, she's in the house finding a reason to live, and he may be bigger than you and able to kick your ***.

Anything is better than gettin drunk alone. I know, and have been there. Get sober for yourself, there is a whole wonderful world out there. It will make you a better person for everyone including your wife, but most of all yourself.

I'm not married and even I know this one. Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice. If you get drunk alone, you're being selfish. Even if you really don't like talking with your wife (why are you still with her if you don't?) , at least you're doing something together and you show her you care about what she says.

reminds me of a joke, lets see if I can remember it, there was this guy sitting out on the back steps one morning crying, his wife comes out and ask him why he was crying, he says remember when your father told me I would either marry you or go to jail, she says yes, he says , well I would have gotten out today. (getting drunk beats just about any conversation.)
