In the contests in magazines and radio stations,do people really get their prize or do the DJ's just lie?

It's cause i entered this contest to win HSM[High School Musical]things.They raffled the names 6/26/06.They haven't announced the winners or anything.

My boyfriend and I have won several radio contests. In fact my boyfriend won a 1/2 carat round diamond. We have received each prize that they said we won.

There are laws that govern that stuff so most of it's legit.

However if someone wins a big prize on the radio or a gameshow, they may decline it, because they can't afford to pay the taxes on the vacation or new car or whatever.

Also an interesting FYI, when it comes to cash prizes like a million dollars there is a insurance you can take out when running a contest that issues the prize.

i win a radio contest once a month a minimum of, extra if i'm close to a telephone at only the right time, its regularly some random trivialities question that I dont even understand why i understand the reply or how! I regularly win a present cirtificate for a meal at a eating position , I easily have gained $100 funds previously being the 10th caller.. Ohh I gained a Christmas tree previously... i love playing trivialities video games on the radio.

Oh people do get their prizes on radio contests, I won tickets to
gymnastics all-round finals at the Sydney Olympics 2000 which was really awsome. I also won great tickets to the Rob Thomas concert when he was in Australia in February this year.

People do win. IF you want a list of the winners you need to contact the organization or radio station and they will mail you a list of names. It the law

Several years ago, my sister won a trip to Germany (we're in US) from a local radio station...airfare and accommodations were included for 5 days. Pretty good prize.

There are bogus contest out there, but I've won stuff from the radio. Lots of the contests and drawings are designed to get your info so they can target you for marketing.

Maybe you just missed the annoucement. Usually a contest will have an address or phone number where you can get the list of winners.

They really get their prize. If they or the station are caught running a fake contest, they can lose their FCC license to broadcast plus possible criminal and civil penalties.
