Yes, I think they are horrible.
In fact, they are only good in sports they invented.
It's easy that way.
I, myself, invented a very nice sport, in which I am the best in the world!

YES!!
As long as a soccer player win less than 100.000 USD per year in the North American Soccer league and a football player in NFL 10 times more I don't see young boys to be interested in soccer in USA or Canada.
And the reason is that the big sponsors don't agree to move to a different sport that means to loose a lot of funs and money.
It's like you ask if England will have ever a good "American football team !"
Forgot about USA a good soccer team ...(a good team is in the first 40 ) I suggest to rank the team by next criteria ..
You are on spot n if you defeat in 4 of 6 games any other team from place (n+1 and bellow) (forgot about "Coca Cola ranking that is stupid")

Ok, guys, I'm going to say this once and I want you all to pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION because I know what I'm talking about. The number one reason that US soccer is not up to par with the rest of the world is because soccer in America is NOT PLAYED IN THE INNER CITIES!!!! As long as soccer remains a "boutique sport" limited to kids with "soccer moms" who drive their mini vans to nice, clean suburban team games we will never reach our potential. Soccer (like most other sports) is best learned on the streets of the inner cities. Anyone who doesn't think so should go to Brazil and see where players learn their fancy tricks and extraordinary flair. The same goes for US basketball players---Do you seriously think that a Michael Jordan or a Kobe Bryant was developed on a little league team?! Get real, THEY LEARNED ON THE STREETS, in the back alleys and grimmy, seedy playgrounds of inner city America. So whether you agree with me or not will not change the facts. And--for Heaven's sake---why are we the only country in the world that ties college with sports?! In Italy, Brazil, England, Argentina---you name it---these two things have NOTHING to do with each other!! If you are good in soccer you get recruited by a club at an early age and you are free to concentrate on soccer and SOCCER ALONE without college grades getting in the way. So, when I see American kids playing on a concrete, graffiti-plagued park behind a row of projects in Brooklyn or Compton, LA, I know we're not far from our first World Cup Title.

The US is good, however there is very little interest in the professional version of the sport in the US. After 30 years of ramming soccer down our children's throats and having labels such as "soccer mom," virtually no one cares about the game in the US past school age.

Every four years the World Cup is played and this same discussion arises. If you like it, fine. If you play it, fine. However, there are far more exciting sports in the US such as American football.

The more popular professional sports in the US attract the best athletes. What's left over are soccer and tennis players.

Well in my opinion I dont see the US as a bad team, they play good, and they even beat Mexico in Mexico City, all the teams have bad times, and United States is not the only one, Czech Republic also had a bad time.

The only thing that the United States are missing is that magic, they need a player that can play soccer and not only score. I really think that they need another coach, and I suggest them a Dutch coach or a Eastern European coach, or basically any coach that had played soccer, and that knows a lot about it.

I think the United States is inexperienced when it comes to soccer. It's popularity does not rank very high in this country compared to other sports. Until the interest grows I would say that our teams will continue to struggle. Oddly, our female soccer players have achieved a great deal of success.

they aren't good because Football is king in America. There seems to be a lot of interest in the World Cup this year. If it catches on with the kids, we'll have a great soccer team within 10 years.

The American I think needs to develope more to be good in soccer but good on them for being in the WC. Every team in the world has a chance to show their skills.

Yeah right, half the kids at my school are drug addicts so that isn't the reason. It's because we don't have a well established football league like the Premiership or La Liga.
