First, I'm Italian... so I'm quite close to this question.... Last year, there was a referendum about artificial insemination.... then what the Church did??? "She" said to the Cristian people not to vote at all, so the quorum wasn't reach due to this.... and now we have a terrible law about this matter....
So, as you can see.... I'm totally against the Church.... it should be a spiritual power, and not interferes in politic. But this doesn't happen.

Firstly, I draw attention to the FACT that Nazi gold derived from the holocaust was put into trust with the Vatican Bank and that the Vatican refused to condemn fascist views and still does.

All religious organisations are political and I would venture at this point to say that no one group is the most evil. People can be good or evil and those people working wherever, make the policies that guide institutions, therefore, IF the Vatican IS evil, it is only through the interests of the individuals responsible, ie. The Pope.

Secondly, it's Christianity as a whole that has used wholesale slaughter to acheive it's aims.

The ultimate power in our time (and something to be more worried about) is the Illuminati (see the reverse of the one dollar bill and on the left-hand side you'll see the Great Seal, otherwise known as the All Seeing Eye with the latin around it refering to "hail the new world order") *rough translation*

How many times are the terms "Globalists" and "New world order" sneaked into our homes via the news and how we miss the relevance.

You are quite correct with your analysis of the Vatican activities. In the name of God more people were killed than for all other causes together.
And why is the Vatican not remembered as the most evil organisation? Well, because the Vatican is not an organisation. The Vatican is a place, less than half a square mile inside the city of Rome, and it houses the HQ of the Catholic Church, which is the organisation that we should remember as the most evil in the history of mankind.

O_o ...i guess because he's on top, the mob boss ALWAYS knows how to cover his ***. (that was my funny haha answer-now for the serious one)

I agree that the atrocities commited in the name of God are horrible, and yes Catholics and Christians have killed quite a few innocent people for their own reasons under the guise of "But God told me to do it" (mostly Christianity that i know of). But I really hope you're not actually saying that it's worse than Hitler and/or Stalin. I mean, come on Shelly.

Great evils shouldn't be put in scale from 1 to 10. They should just be seen for what they are. Great evil. Plus putting it ALL on the Vaticans shoulders is pretty harsh too. I bet he's a nice guy. It's just everyone else that's fucked up. :D

The Vatican is a city, not an organization. The Catholic people killed many ppl, not the city. The organization is made up with ppl who do the killings in the name of the Lord. Vatican City is simply where the bulk of them is located.

First, your assumption is false. "the Vatican", I guess you mean the roman catholic church, is barely responsible for any death and the us govt must not in even your demented state be equated to hitler or stalin. We americans started the move to erradicate slavery in the world, the civil war began an exodus for the whole world. Now the world thanks to u.s. is mostly slave free. You just haven't a clue, Catholicism, although very errant in it's practices, is a christian denomination, and it loves people all over the world, and it attempts to make life better for the most part.. Yes , they do have some detestable perverts who should be in jail, and they have protected them which is evil. Hitler was a sociopath half jew who hated the jewish heritage he had. He was evil incarnate, and , he would have ruled the world except for the sacrifice of tens of thousands of brave americans who knew that freedom is not free.. We beat Him back, and we will beat back every enemy of freedom who rears his satanic head, including you.

Why Jews were persecuted more than ten times in our recent history?

You are telling that Catholic church are responsable for more deaths than US Gov. (Vietnam, Corea, Iraq, North American Indians, Nukes in japan, All dictators in south america being trained by US and killing thousands of people), England (India, China, Argentina, Paraguai), Stalin (dificult to match), Mao Tse Tung(communist revolution), Spain (Incas and Astecas raised to ground) and so on?

You are telling that Catholics are bringing more pain than G8 with Capitalism's boom. (Greenhouse effect, Toxic industries, Support slave labor in China and lack of echological laws there, selling all toxic waste to India). You are telling that Catholics are evil beacuse they ( or we should tell US and EU companies) maintain Africa in poor conditions only to they do not exploit Oil, Gold and diamonds. Maintain all control under Multinational Skirts over few parts of the countries, like is happening in Nigeria?

Pal, perhaps you have more information than I have.

Cruzades are not made not only by Catholic Church, but also Kings with full agreement. during Cruzades, Catholics killed other catholics. (See Catholic Ortodox reference - Constantinopla).

Catholics are "like" Hebrew. Too long history and organization start to bring themselves to the spots and that means persecution by history. Its the same that is happening with USA now. Go everywhere and ask to the common people about USA. Power brings this curse after a while.

Take care to not judge facts with your actual eyes. History means context and each period has its own. Nazists from '39 are quite different from Nazists from '44.

The real fact is: Democracy is an illusion. freedom is another illusion. Always we will have an Elite that will rule the world (Niches) and people can do nothing about it or even to change it. Money means power and power must use army to keep them there when commercial constrains doesn't work so well.

Common people with huge lack of information will always have positions against obvious, but not true, situations/organizations. There is no Bad or Good, but a balance. Social links has its own laws. God and Evil are social developed concepts that should be changed, once everything is about survival and keeping the power, since the Raise of the Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

Though I don't necessarily agree it's the most evil organization in history, I do agree that for a religious organization it has brought a lot of grief to a lot of people. I was raised Catholic and feel the Catholic Church is more of a cult than a church. Its members have been brainwashed from childhood, spoon fed by the Catechism (at least in my day). They don't sanction people who have a mind of their own and have questions. My eldest son had lots of questions during religious ed classes and was asked to leave more than once. That was just 20 years ago. Though my 2 older sisters are still practicing Catholics, they both agree it's a cult. They both went to parochial school. As did my older brother. The nuns tried to change him from being left handed to right handed and were very cruel. I can remember going to religious ed classes and seeing some of the punishments the nuns meted out to the poor kids who went there full time. My oldest sister begged my parents (literally on her knees) when it came time for me to start school in 1958 to NOT send me to the Catholic school, but to let me attend public school. She saved me and my 2 younger siblings from the horrors of a parochial education. However, we were still indoctrinated. But not as bad as the older 3. As bad as Hitler or Stalin. No. But definitely very bad!

Been reading the Bible According to Dan Brown, have we?

Catch up on your facts before you go spouting nonsense. Even if you did have a point, your facts are ridiculous and makes your whole question suspect.

Educate yourself and try this again.

The reason is because it is STILL IN EXISTENCE. For something to be "rembered as..." means that it belongs to the past /is no longer in existence. The Vatican is VERY MUCH in existence and therefore, it is impossible for it to be "remembered as" anything.
