They had a good team only once before, in 1966 with Euzébio and Coluna (both born in Mozambique, actually). That team finished 3rd in the World Cup.
Other than that, only recently they have really done something. They were in the 1986 WC, with a poor performance. In 2002 they had good players that were not good together. Now, with Scolari, these good players became a team. An excellent team!

They are good but you hear of them because they are violent. They were left with 9 players against the Netherlands.

this is the best portugal team after eusebio era, i think scolari doing very well to improve team performance
