My friend married her first husband seven days after she met him. Ten years and two children later she got divorced. Of course, she was blessed to be able to get a divorce..you see, every couple of months he would beat her up..this, she said started three weeks after they were married. He needed no provocation, she says her life was kind of like the movie "The Burning Bed".
Another girl met a man while he was in prison..when he got out, he just couldn't cope...On one occasion she was in the hospital for two weeks, nearly killed her.
Take time to know more about him before you get married. How does he treat his mother, his sister, the dog....He is rude, disrespectful to mom, chances are he will be the same with you. Has he been married before? find out why he is no longer married, ask someone besides him, perhaps someone who knew his ex also.
Do some praying . Let your parents meet him..what do they think? I pray that you make the right decision.

As others have alluded, it's really dependent upon your age & life experience. If you've had enough experience that you feel you can trust your "gut" instinct, it seems okay to me. But there are a lot of Mind-F*&kers out there that will unfortunately prey on a person's sense of spontaneity and possibly an obvious need to fall in love or meet a companion. Tread the waters carefully..

Nothing wrong with a little spontaneity.
Infact I recently read a survey that said couples who've known each other for under a year before they got married were more likely to stay together longer than couples who'd known each other for 4 years before they got married.
No risk no fun, right?

Not a very smart thing to do. You don't even know the person. You should date at least 6 months to a year before you even think about getting married.

It's silly. People need time to figure out how they are going to work together. Marriage is a partnership and you can't just jump in and go "Oh, everything is perfect" coz you're gonna hit the wall pretty darn quickly.
On the other side. I'm an idiot and could totally see myself doing it.
Feh.

It might be better to wait and get to know each other more. I got married after 6mo of dating. We were married for 6 years, but if we would have waited it probley would have lasted longer..we are still friends, and sometimes wonder what if. It costs alot to divorce too.

well to be honest with you,it's not a stupid thing to do like some people say it is,and it's not dum either, but, you do not say if you love each other,is there a reason to get married to someone that you just met? or do you both truely Love one another? or is it just you that wants to get married with this someone that you just met?How does the other person feel about it ?If you both Love each other, than I would say go for it.but if not, than DON"T !!!

Well, just depends on the people, me i dont really think it is a good idea, personal experience talking here. But if you think he is the right person, and you feel like you can make it, try it. The worst thing that will happen is you will end up splitting up,
