My girlfriend recently said that a woman that takes hot baths or in a hot tub for more than 20 minutes risks killing her eggs due to the hot water. I had never heard this before. Is this true? If so, is it permanent? Thank you.

As far as I know, it´s not the woman´s eggs but the guy´s sperm that can get killed! If a couple can´t get pregnant, the doctor usually recommends the man not to wear tight underwear, very heavy pants or anything that can get that area overheated.

No. Eggs in a woman's ovaries can be damaged by environmental conditions, but it takes a heck of a lot more than a hot bath.

Sperm in the testes, which are relatively unprotected, are a lot more vulnerable to heat. A man who takes a lot of hot baths does damage his immediate fertility, because he is killing some sperm (but not enough to count on this as a birth control method!) - but sperm are continually produced and so a couple weeks later he's good to go again.
