Get DGL at a health food store and chew the it up several times a day. Keep it in your mouth and chew and swish around about 2 minutes at least. Also take l-lysine as a supplement each day...500 mg capsule...this is an amino acid that will help stop the outbreak of the virus that causes canker sores. Avoid sugar and acidic foods during the healing process. The DGL is a form of licorice that heals mucosa membranes.~~~Tea Tree mouthwash is effective also. Be Well~~

This really works. Get Black Walnut Hull in a tincture from your health food store. Put about 10 - 20 drops in a small amount of water (2-4 oz). Swish this around in your mouth for 1 - 2 minutes and then swallow. This will taste bitter but it will not hurt you. Do this 4 or 5 times or till all the mixture is gone. Do this 3 or 4 times a day for 2 or 3 days and your canker sores will not come back for along time. It has worked for me.

Very simple. Garlic. Take a garlic clove.. slice it thin and place over the sore. The garlic will kill all the germs and bacteria on contact, instantly. It will sting.. but it does work. And you'll see it heal much faster. If you can stand it, eat a few raw cloves as well. If you cannot, mince it finely, mix with juice and drink quickly.
Canker sores also appear b/c of a deficiency in Vitamin B (complex) and Lysine. If you have some in your home, take 1-2 tablets per day. If you want to keep things simple, try using garlic.

Limit the amount of citric acid oyu take in. This agrivates the current sores and can cause more to appear. As for getting rid of em, I've alwayts used scope. Burns like hell but clears em up and fast. As for the pain, use clove essential oil found at www.youngliving.com/gramora Clove is a natural numbing agent that was widely used in dental practices before things like novacane became widely available.

Are you using something specifically for canker sores or just some numbing gel. Put a little glob of special canker sore gel on before you go to bed and by morning it should be noticeably better.

The best immediate cure for a canchre sore is alum. Yes, go to your grocery store and look in the herbs section and get powdered alum. Apply some directly to the canchre sore. It'll make you suck your face in, it's worse than a lemon, but the canchre sore is gone pretty much immediately. All dried up.

I have a terrible canker right now too. The thing I'm doing that's making all the difference, is to brush my teeth like 10 times a day, and gargling with essential oil of Myhrr. You can find it in most health food stores, or Saje.ca

Wet your finger, stick your finger in some baking soda, and try putting the baking soda on them and see how that works.
