It varies a lot. Usually the child will follow what either parent did. My son (and me) both cut our first tooth after our first birthday. My son was 12 1/2 months for his first tooth. And then 6 came in within 3 weeks of each other. It's a lot easier when they're older. They can let you know what's wrong and handle pain easier. My son's teeth had already come in before I realized he was even teething. I feel bad for the parents that have a 5 month old teething.

This is within normal range. Some babies are more than 12 months when teething begins. Vitamins sometime are needed when the teeth are slow growing in. Other times these kids eat anything they want with no teeth and the gums get very strong. Then it takes a little longer for those teeth to break through!

I know 2 babies that were literally born with teeth. I also know several that didn't get any until well after their first birthday. Your son is his very own person and he will do things differently than anybody else! (That's not a bad thing, either!!) Don't worry about it and just enjoy getting to see his big gummy smile! You'll miss it when it's gone. My son got his first 4 teeth before he was 3 months old and I have a hard time remembering that little toothless grin.

My children(all 3) didn't begin to cut teeth until 10 months and later. The pediatrician said this is actually good because that means the teeth aren't exposed to drinking from a bottle as long since they are suppose to stop that by 12 months. They have a better chance for healthier baby teeth.

this is okay - all kids get their teeth at different times. My daughter was 13 months old when she got her first tooth - but once they started, they came quickly. She is two now and caught up with everyone else in the teeth department. Don't worry - they will come in!

It's normal for many babies. Some babies get their teeth early (some are even born with teeth), and some later. Most babies have their first tooth some time before their first birthday, but there are some for whom it's *normal* to be even later than that.

your child should have their teeth by the time they are 2 years old. that's when the 2 year molars come out. If your child gets their molars before all the front are out take them to the doctors with your concerns. I always got took the later the teeth come out the longer you will have them.

my daughter is almost 16 months and still toothless....she will be a big sister this month...before she has teeth...kinda crazy huh...anyway i asked the dentist and he said its normal and shouldnt be a concern unless she turns 24 months and remains toothless...then to consult her pediatrician....i was 16 months when i got my first tooth so the dr said that could be why...also the later the teeth come in .. the better....your baby will have healthier teeth

It is normal that babies can have their teeth during the 15th month but if any later and still you don't see any teeth, you will have to check with the doctor.

Yup, that is normal. All babies grow at a different rate. Don't worry. Before you know it, your baby will have a complete set of teeth in no time.
