As upset as you are that he is away, this proves how dedicated he is to family. They always say that the way a man treats his family (mama, in particular) is how he will treat his spouse. While you are missing him so much, focus on your life - throw yourself into what you do best, whether its scool, work, kids, hobbies, etc. And remember - distance only makes the heart grow fonder.

Tell your husband how you feel and that you miss him! Helping his parents if fine, but it shouldn't come at the cost of putting a wedge in his marriage. Talk to him and tell him that you need him and miss him. If you can, maybe take a trip out there to help speed the house process along, that way you can help him, be with him, and also get him home faster.

You cant dislocate a disc..they can rupture, herniate or bulge. I have spinal injuries including a herniated disc and there is no way he can do construction work...at all. He would be in the hospital the first time he lifted anything heavy. Sounds like he's leaving you.

My hubby was in the army, when he was gone to Iraq, we could only talk once a week for 10 minutes... maybe just thinking about how bad others have it even right now, may make you feel better, I tried to imagine people not knowing even that onc a week if their spouse was okay. Hang in there.

Have you a phone? Has he? Can you not take a road trip and visit for a day or two? Is he responsible enough to take care of himself?

You will get into a routine and it will get better, trust me. Just try to keep busy and tell him not to do anything crazy or he'll mess up his back more.
