well there is a law that says that a child can stay home for 4 hours by themselfs but they have to be near the age of 9, 13, 12,11 or 10 but i dont know if that law is in every state.

It really depends how mature they are. I know there are state laws but As long as they are mature ( which I would say around 13) they are capable of staying home by themselves.

I started staying home when I was, like, 11 I think. But that was never for long periods of time.

legally a child can stay home bythemselves from thirteen to fifteen depending on the state. Morally I think it depends on the behavior of the child

when they are 11 years old thats the law in new york at least but im sure thats the law in other states to maybe even younger in some..but i stayed home alone since i was 7..but maybe that was because my dad worked realy nearby..

i started staying when i was 9 not 4 long but i did at 9, but was mature enought to handle it

I do not leave my children home alone ever... I just feel they are to young... They are 8 and 10 and I cant see leaving them home alone until they are at least 13ish..
