Yes, it calms and soothes your skin. You can use chamomile to steam your face with. This really helps open your pores and cleanse the skin while also soothing and softening the skin. I use a chamomile and calamine facial soap, it's helped tremendously with the redness of my skin from blemishes. It is exellent for those with other skin problems such as excema or psorisis.

Never heard of it. BUT. Believe it or not, one of the most effective treatments for acne is MAALOX. It is brand specific, other ant-acids don't seem to work as well. It is even great for poison ivy and the like. In fact, that is how I first found out about it. I was in a Kroger's and asked the Pharmacist where the ivy dry or calamine was and she had me show her my hands. I had been "weed-whacking" and had it all over my wrists. She told me to go to the front counter and get the MAALOX and use it. I did. 3 hrs. later the breaking out was gone. Told a friend about it and he called a friend that had poison ivy all over her and told her about it. He said she called him the next evening and said it was all cleared up.
Knowing that and other cases I had a young friend of mine try it on her acne. Within three days it was nearly all gone. She had been using that prescription stuff (''P" something ) and it wasn't working. Can site other cases but won't. I have no connection with the company... when the Pharmacist told me about it, I asked, that's an ant-acid isn't it? And she just said; Well Duuuu!!!

Besides being a calmative it is also a mild ant-bacterial, so its possible it may be helpful. I know that I make a cream with chamomile, lemon balm and aloe that is good for most skin rashes, cuts, etc. So, I would think that chamomile would be effective.

I've been reading alot about herbs, vitamins, etc. Chamomile being one of them. I haven't read anything about it treating acne. That's not to say it doesn't though.
