Up to what baby's age do I have to sterilize (by boiling in water)baby's feeding bottles and teething cups. Is it true that most baby teething cups are made of materials that cannot be boiled.

I never sterilized bottles or anything else. Hot soapy water works just as good. Just make sure you rinse them well afterward. My baby is just fine, and is never sick. I wouldn't waste your time doing that. I also just put them in the dishwasher on the top shelf every once in a while.

Baby milk is like cow milk and attracts a high number of germs and bacteria...my baby is 9 months and on the advice of others I stopped sterilizing 2 weeks ago...4 days later she came down with bad diarreahea (spelling) I have since carried on sterilizing...it's just not worth the risk. If I were you I would boil a kettle to wash hyour sons bottles to remove all the grease that formula leaves behind.and then sterilize.

Honestly I never worried about it. I sterilized bottles and nipples but never cups or other feeding utensils. I just ran them through the dishwasher before use. My pediatrician agreed that what I was doing was fine.

You really don't need to boil anything, washing with hot soapy water is fine. I boiled everything for my first child and nothing for the last 2 They all are fine!

I never "sterilize" anything that way. I usually wash everything in hot, soapy water. If I think it needs something more, I'll put it in the dishwasher.

They say that you should sterilize everything until 12 months but i think that once they are crawling and picking up things off the floor and putting it in their mouths you can stop.

Putting them thru the dishwasher would be good enough. If you wanted to set an age, I would say up to 1 year old. There bodies are stronger by then to withstand sickness better.

I actually never sterilized by son's cups, spoons, bowls, bottles or anything. I don't understand why we treat babies like some alien life form. I don't sterlize my stuff- why his?
