Recently I've been thinking about changing my boring name, Sue, to the name Scottie-Anne. I've been thinking through this a lot but I can't come to a decision. I've talked to my mother and she said that she is okay with me changing my name, but I can't decide. What do you think? Do you think Scottie-Anne is a good name? If not, what name do you recommend?

You can assume the new name without legally changing it, and if it still sticks, say 20 years from now, then go ahead with the legal name change.

Spoken aloud, Scottie-Anne sounds very similar to Oceane. Caledonia is nice too.

Sue is a great name. Scottie Anne? Sorry, but that sounds like the name of a puppy or something. I couldn't think of changing my name. Sure, I'd rather be called something else at times but it would just be so strange I couldn't imagine it. Why not Su***? Or add your own flair to it. I know people who's name was Jill and changed it to Jil! Or have a nickname. That's what I did. Didn't like my name so got a nickname. Whatever happens, just be true to yourself and don't go nuts about changing your name. Truth is, you probably got your name because that's what you are.

I think what ever you like is best! Seriously you should think about it more. Make a list of all the names you like and every day eliminate 1. Would you respond to Scottie-Anne after living with Sue your whole life? Just think about it.

Scottie-Anne is very pretty. You don't need to go out and legally change it. It can become your nickname. This way, if you later on decided that you don't like it anymore, you don't have to change anything else.

instead of changing your name why don't you change how it is spelled. such as suzie. but as someone else said, it is your name and you have to live with it. just be sure that if you do change it, it is what you want because the process is not the easiest. i just recently changed my last name (got married) and having to change my driver's license, credit cards and everything else was a pain in the you know where. i wouldn't want to do it again.
